Samuel Y. Valentine is a Liberian born in Harbel, Firestone where his father Samuel Y. Valentine, Sr. worked as a clerk for twenty (20) unbroken years. His father originated from Cavalla, Maryland County in Liberia, and mother is from Grand Gedeh County. Victoria Aldo, his mother, is currently serving as a public school teacher in Monrovia.
Samuel Y. Valentine started his early primary education at the Kingsville Public School in Careysburg district where he lived with his grandmother for more tan ten (10) years. For his junior high school education, he attended the Harbel Junior High school and Todee Mission School, and completed his senior high school at the St. Christopher Catholic High School in Kakata Margibi County.
In pursuit of higher education, he enrolled at the University of Liberia and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. Still in search of higher education, he got admitted into the graduate school and acquired a Master’s degree (distinction) in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Liberia in 2012. In 2017, he completed an online Master in Teaching and Learning from the National Valley University in USA.
Aside From his university degrees, Samuel Y. Valentine, holds a certificate in projects from the Aids Support Organization ( TASO) in Mbale, Uganda and an advance level certificate in Communications, Public Relations and Organization Reputation Management from Magna Skill Academy in Pretoria, South Africa. He also underwent biblical studies at the African Bible College, and the ELWA Radio Bible School.
Samuel Y, Valentine had worked in several positions as a teacher, journalist and a preacher man. He taught many high schools in Liberia, the Calvary Temple AGM High School in Paynesville, St. Michael Catholic High School in New Georgia and the Len Miller Salvation Army High School in Monrovia. In 1998, He served as principal of the Amos Taybior Institute and in 2012 became principal of the Wariebi Academy (a British Liberian School) in Gardnersville.
In the year 2000, he was assigned at the Liberia Broadcasting System as an Intern, and in 2001, he worked for the New Liberia Newspaper as proofreader, and in 2004, he worked as liaison in Liberia for the Sacred Pathway, Inc. based in Houston, Texas USA . In 2022, he was hired as a consultant by the Center of Media Research for China Global Television Network (CGTN) to do an analysis of ‘The World Today’, a program broadcast on Radio France, FM 104 in Monrovia.
Currently, Samuel Y. Valentine is the Head of the Mass Communication Department at the African Methodist Episcopal University in Monrovia
For his political experience, he served as chairman of the Freedom Alliance Party of Liberia for two (2) years, 2005 and 2012. Samuel Y. Valentine is a devoted Christian. He is the pastor of the Hope in Christ Church on 17th Street, Sinkor – Monrovia.
